dc.description.abstract Elastic storage management plays a vital role to implement for cloud storage system. In the cloud storage system, data are stored and compressed in several ways. This system intends to implement an elastic storage system using Huffman mehtods. Data compression is a common requirement for most of the computerized applications. There are number of data compression algorithms, which are dedicated to compress different data formats. Evewn for a single data type there are number of different compression algorithms, which use different approaches. A set of selected algorithm is examined and implemented to evaluate the performance in compressing text data. An experimental comparison of lossless data compression algorithn is presented in thi paper. The paper is concluded by stating Huffman algorithm performs well for text data. en_US
