dc.description.abstract Population ageing is a challenge for developing countries. Myanmar, a developing country in South-East Asia encounters the problem of a rapidly ageing population. Currently, Myanmar lacks an effective social and healthcare policy on the ageing society. In this study, we investigate the impacts of digital games on elderly people’s active ageing in Myanmar. We review the literature on active ageing theories and existing studies regarding digital games for elderly people. The findings show that digital games have the potential to improve the elderlies physical, social, and cognitive activities. Based on the findings, we formulate research questions and propose a research design that applies an exploratory study to investigate the impacts of digital games on active ageing in Myanmar. The discussion in this paper can help researchers gain insightful knowledge about using digital games for active ageing in developing countries. en_US
