dc.description.abstract Virtualization is a key piece of modern data center design. Virtualization provides the possibility of whole machine migration and thus enables a new form of fault tolerance. A replication mechanism is proposed to provide fault tolerance of virtual machines by using asynchronous replication strategy. This paper developed a framework for transparent recovery form failure of virtual machines in data centers by replicating the entire virtual machine. The replication takes place in phases, which are run asynchronous to provide faster replication process. Asynchronous replication mechanism that gives better replication time than the synchronous one will be implemented with the testing prototype using Xen hypervisor. en_US
