<title>The Implementation Role of Assessment in Teaching and Learning Contexts</title>
<link>https://onlineresource.ucsy.edu.mm/handle/123456789/2330</link>
<description>The Implementation Role of Assessment in Teaching and Learning Contexts
Nway, Ei Ei; Win, Thuzar
The aim of this paper is to be aware of the&#13;
important role of assessment in teaching and learning&#13;
process to promote the performance of both EFL&#13;
teachers and EFL students in technological and&#13;
computer universities, Myanmar. Assessment is&#13;
concerned with the quality of teaching as well as the&#13;
quality of learning. The relationship of teaching,&#13;
learning and assessment practices would support in&#13;
deciding what can or cannot be achieved in a&#13;
particular educational environment. Test plays a vital&#13;
role in the teaching and learning environment. It can&#13;
effectively be used as a valuable teaching device. Both&#13;
teaching and testing are so closely interrelated that it&#13;
is impossible to work in either field without being&#13;
constantly concerned with the other. Tests can be&#13;
taken on an additional role of assessing students’&#13;
proficiency. Better teaching techniques are also&#13;
considered to increase the proficiency of students in a&#13;
school year. Therefore, teachers always try to modify&#13;
their teaching methods with motivating activities that&#13;
can arouse students’ interests in language learning&#13;
and assess their language performance. Overall, this&#13;
paper may be a handy device for both teachers and&#13;
students to know the teaching methodologies, different&#13;
kinds of tests and the importance of assessment.

<title>Nation Building Task: Internship Program for Students of University of Computer Studies, Yangon</title>
<link>https://onlineresource.ucsy.edu.mm/handle/123456789/2329</link>
<description>Nation Building Task: Internship Program for Students of University of Computer Studies, Yangon
Khine, Aye Aye
In the 21st Century, the demand of experienced&#13;
and educated workers has increasingly become in&#13;
working environment and higher institutions like&#13;
universities play a central role in nurturing the&#13;
qualified students. In this context, the students from&#13;
University of Computer Studies, Yangon, need&#13;
training to apply efficiently their soft skills as well as&#13;
hard skills. They are expected to construct the Small&#13;
and Medium Enterprise (SME) if they realise the&#13;
contrast of theoretical knowledge and hands-on&#13;
experience before they hunt job in the real world. It&#13;
means that before completing their Bachelor Degree,&#13;
the university makes the internship program for them.&#13;
Students are sent to the industries or companies and&#13;
they are really engaged to the business fields or&#13;
workplace. On this occasion, the engaged learning&#13;
programme, as a theoretical background, is required&#13;
not only for the students but for the faculty members of&#13;
the university who involves teaching-learning&#13;
situation. For language teachers especially those who&#13;
are teaching English need to change their curriculum&#13;
in order to meet the current situation. In previous&#13;
semesters, the IELTS was prescribed starting from the&#13;
first year level to the final year level, but since 2016-&#13;
17 academic year, the 21st century communication&#13;
skills have been conducted in the final year. It can be&#13;
found that students become interested in&#13;
communication skills and they also motivate in their&#13;
English language learning. Communicative Language&#13;
Teaching method has been used to teach authentic&#13;
texts and to converse about learners' personal&#13;
experiences. Students are grouped in discussion and&#13;
debates, which promotes their four skills. The students&#13;
can also utilize the communication skills in their&#13;
report writing and project after they complete intern&#13;
programme. The aim of this paper is to enhance the&#13;
students’ performance by developing curriculum that&#13;
can support in their learning and provide real needs.&#13;
In other words, by means of engaged learning and&#13;
intern programme, the capacity of human resources&#13;
can be effectively built and it can be said that&#13;
curriculum development is associated with the&#13;
development of a society, a community, or a country.

<title>An Alternative Teaching Tool: Video Clips for Teaching the English Writing Skill</title>
<link>https://onlineresource.ucsy.edu.mm/handle/123456789/2328</link>
<description>An Alternative Teaching Tool: Video Clips for Teaching the English Writing Skill
Mon, Hnin Yu
Video films are considered by traditional&#13;
teachers as just light entertainments. They have&#13;
technical difficulties associated with using them in the&#13;
language classroom. However, these days, language&#13;
teachers recognize the potential of the video films as&#13;
a language teaching aid. They take advantage of the&#13;
video films for teaching all four skills. The content of&#13;
the film provides the opportunities for language&#13;
practice. Moreover, language can be used to explore&#13;
the content. In Myanmar, where English as a foreign&#13;
language is actively used only in the classroom, video&#13;
films offer excellent language exposure to students&#13;
outside the classroom. Videos make language&#13;
learning enjoyable and fun. They motivate both the&#13;
students and the teachers. The presenter explores the&#13;
possibilities of utilizing the video clips for language&#13;
teaching at tertiary level. Several video clips are&#13;
selected and the content-based approach is used to&#13;
teach first year students at the University of Computer&#13;
Studies, Panglong. The video clips are used not only&#13;
to teach language but also to release it from the&#13;
students repertoire. The tasks are carefully planned&#13;
beforehand and the students’ knowledge of the&#13;
vocabulary and topic are checked. Several tasks such&#13;
as video review, alternative ending, and summary&#13;
writing are given. It is found that although there are&#13;
some obstacles to surmount, video clips are a&#13;
welcome addition to the repertoire of language&#13;
teaching aids.

<title>Server Load Balancing in Software Defined Networking</title>
<link>https://onlineresource.ucsy.edu.mm/handle/123456789/2327</link>
<description>Server Load Balancing in Software Defined Networking
Linn, Arkar Soe; Win, Su Hlaing; Win, Su Thawda
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is the&#13;
new emerging field in the era of information&#13;
technology. The SDN is more flexible and&#13;
programmable than the traditional network. The one&#13;
of the important usages of SDN is the server load&#13;
balancing strategy. The load on the servers is&#13;
increasing as day by day with the internet usage.&#13;
Therefore, there is a need to balance these load on&#13;
servers in order to provide efficient services to end&#13;
users without any delay. In our proposed system,&#13;
Random, Round Robin and Weighted Round Robin&#13;
load balancing strategies are implemented using an&#13;
OpenFlow switch connected to a POX controller that&#13;
are based on python in SDN
