Development of Data Warehouse For Computer Universites’ Information

Abstract

Data warehousing is a repository of information collected from multiple data sources, stored under a unified schema, and that usually resides at a single site. Nowadays, Universities’ maintaining dta is needed to build together in the data warehouse to make decision and questioning. This system intends to build a data warehouse for Computer Universities’ Information stored in different data sources with different storage formats by using Star model. The steps in development of data warehousesuch as extracting, transforming and loading (ETL Process) will be used in this system. The administrators can get a clean and consistent source of data without without impacting the operational database system. Moreover, data warehouse provides online analytical of multidimensional data of varies granularities, which facilitates effective data mining. The aim of this paper is to accurate, effective, and efficient access for users by using OLAP query.
