Using Case-Based Reasoning to Hotel Recommendation System

Abstract

Web-based application is currently a hot research and development area. Thousands of applications have been made available on the Web, but the problem is that most of them are nothing more than a network of static hypertext pages. This system aimed at supporting a leisure traveler to stay comfortable of selecting a hotel, selecting a hotel for wedding and to do a meeting or conference. The system enables the user to identity his/her own destination and to personalize the hotel by aggregating elementary items (additional locations to visit, services and activities). To reduce time for finding hotel and to give an immediate answer to the user by exploring the cumulative experiences from previous user’s answers for the benefit of new . This system represents a hotel recommendation system by using Case-based Reasoning. Case-based reasoning is an artificial intelligence approach to learning and problem solving based on experience. To retrieve match cases from the case based that is similar to the user’s choose by using nearest neighbor algorithm technique. From the system, user can choose relevant hotel according to their needs and interests activities and reduce time for the user.
