dc.description.abstract Todays, computers security is needed to protect data and to thwart the hackers. Cryptanalysis on symmetric key cryptography is encouraging the use of larger key sizes and complex algorithms to achieve an unbreakable state. To make encryption process, symmetric key cryptography that uses the same key for encryption of plain image also generates cipher image. Decryption of the cipher image to get the original plain image is done by decryption. This method is used to secure data for transmission over open networks such as the internet. In this system, comparison of execution times for symmetric key cryptography is presented along with the algorithm of RC5 and RC6 .These are suitable to build a secure system in the military environment, video communication and so on. en_US
