dc.description.abstract Smartphones have become indispensable for our daily lives empowering us from leisure to more productive livings. However, people with visual impairments are not fully accessible to the benefits of smartphone devices because using a smartphone heavily requires visual attention from users. This paper developed a motion gesture-based smartphone interfaces that allow eyes-free interactions with a smartphone. We conducted a usability study with our target users. We found that the proposed interfaces help users to use a smartphone efficiently. From the results and user studies, we drew design implications for further development of motion gestures and assistive interfaces for users with visual impairments. en_US
