dc.description.abstract The next generation Internet demand for high quality of service (QoS) guarantees to deliver different applications for end users. Quality of Service (QoS) is difficult to guarantee the performance requirements for various services with current Internet. Software Defined Network (SDN) paradigm has emerged in response to the limitations of traditional networking architectures. By utilizing the characteristics of SDN, this paper proposes QoS Aware Routing Algorithm for SDN with Segment Routing (SR) which can adjust the bandwidth requirements to find the best path according to the QoS requirements. This QoS Aware Routing includes two functions: detection of link states among switches and determination of flow’s QoS requirements. The routing algorithm finds the feasible paths that satisfy QoS requirements of a flow. If there is no path which satisfies the required QoS, the path will be decided depending on flow types: QoS flow and best-effort flow by the proposed algorithm. The higher bandwidth flow is rerouted by routing algorithm when the original path can’t provide available bandwidth. This paper suggests improvements in QoS using OpenFlow controller based on ONOS and presents the simulation experiments to improve the performance of the network. en_US
