Abstract:
In recent decades, road transportation systems have become increasingly complex and congested. Traffic congestion is a serious problem that affects people both economically as well as mentally. Road traffic jam is a major source of inefficiency and wasted fuel. With the rapid development of phones, smart phones can provide location estimates with GPS sensor. The proposed system is to analyze and monitor traffic congestion with Geographical Information System and using GPS data for Public Transport Planning in Yangon, Myanmar. The accurate traffic data is extracted by the B+tree searching algorithm. The system used to show changes in position, speed and directions of vehicles travelling on the Yangon roads with the traffic speed and routing pattern algorithms developed. The established GPS Server database infrastructure gives any kinds of analysis requiring the stored GPS traffic data in a distributed client-server environment. This includes getting the traffic data from GPS enabled mobile or GPS Tracker. There are various potions what is congestion, impacts of congestion and reasons behind traffic congestion in the paper. This system provides the accurate map for more efficient estimation results for traffic state from GPS data and saving more time other.
