dc.description.abstract Today, various types of vast amount of information have been publishing on the World Wide Web. To discover and meet user information needs, the use of document clustering in information retrieval system is necessarily demanded. So, this paper presents information retrieval system using divisive hierarchical clustering technique. We use a hierarchical clustering method that groups similar documents into clusters and efficient search algorithms that optimizes the visited nodes when searching the similar documents. The main objective of search result clustering is to help the users to identify the documents of interest more quickly. The aim of the clustering is to determine the intrinsic grouping in a set of unlabeled data. Information retrieval systems provide useful information in libraries to researchers. Information retrieval is an important and major component of the Internet and the Web in the information age and should play an important role in knowledge discovery. en_US
