dc.description.abstract Nowadays, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is widely used because of mobility and ease of placement. The rapid growth in the use of wireless networks attracts the attackers as a target. Link layer is the weakness link among OSI model because of unprotected management frames. Wireless link layer is not covered by the current standard for WLAN networks leading to many potential attacks. A framework that can able to detect link layer attacks in wireless network is proposed. The aim of this proposed framework is to implement a wireless network security system which can detect link layer attacks and to understand the patterns of this attacks. The proposed Detection Link Layer Algorithm (DLLA) will detect wi-fi deauthentication attack by using both active and passive fingerprinting methods and implement with the Network Simulator 2 (NS2) tool. This proposed framework will be set-up and deploy in Kali Linux with Python network programming. en_US
