Abstract:
Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is the
process of solving new problems based on the
solutions of similar past problems. The CBR can
be used to find the specific knowledge of
previously experienced problem situations
(cases). The purpose of this system is to develop a
case-based reasoning system for criminal
judgment. A new problem is solved by finding a
similar past case, and reusing it in the new
problem situation. CBR is also an approach to
incremental, sustained learning because a new
experience is retained each time a problem has
been solved, making it immediately available for
future problems. By using the knowledge of expert
and documentation, this system applies four tasks
of CBR for criminal judgements. The system
produces the judgment or punishment as case
output. The system can also retain the successful
case solutions for future assistance.
