Conversion of XML schema to data warehouse schema

Abstract

Data warehousing technology aims at providing support for decision making for operational data. Defining a data warehouse for data stored in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format should be addressed as various organizationsuse XML to facilitate the promotion of their businesses. XML is a worldwide standard to represent data in web based system. Numbers of organizations use XML for e-commerce and internet based applications. This paper describes the system that convert the XML schema into data warehouse schema. XML schema for Russian Doll approach is used as input and schema graph is converted. And then fact, dimension tables are being identified from the schema graph. Data warehouse schema is extracted from these fact, dimension tables and their relationships
